

Call for submissions!
Northern Michigan artists, submit your original pieces that will inspire others to get vaccinated. Voices for Vaccination, a regional art contest, aims to illustrate the ways vaccines promote individual and community health for the betterment of health in childhood, pregnancy, breastfeeding mothers, minorities, seniors and beyond!

COVID-19 continues to be pervasive in our northern Michigan communities, taking lives, disrupting our children’s education, and overwhelming our public health system. But, together, we can stop it. Let’s roll up our sleeves, mask up, and help end this pandemic.
Vaccination is one of the most important things individuals can do to protect themselves and others from COVID-19 and other transmissible illnesses. Enter your original work that encourages vaccination for the wellbeing of for our families, friends, and neighbors.
In your piece, in any medium, tell us what vaccines mean to you, how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted you, how vaccines have improved lives, or how vaccines help support the health of your community. Pieces from all Northern Michigan counties will be accepted in a variety of different mediums, including ceramics, drawing, painting, electronic graphics, film, and literature.
Specifications are as follows:
- Please submit pieces with a base width of no greater than 36 inches
- Limit recordings to 2 minutes.
- Writing submissions not to exceed 500 words.
- Entries must be original work of the artist’s own creation.
About the Contest
Judges will select the top pieces, which will move on to community voting in spring 2022.
Age Categories



The call for submissions opens February 15th and closes March 15th. Pieces from all Northern Michigan counties will be accepted in a variety of different mediums from ceramics to drawing, paint, electronic format, film, and literature to name a few. Please take your piece, 1 per contestant, and 2 copies of the completed registration form (one to attach to art piece, one for administrative purposes) to a drop-off location by March 15, 2022. The registration form can be downloaded and printed. You may also upload your artwork and completed registration form below. Check drop-off websites or call for hours of operation.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three submissions, as voted by the community, in each age group:

Third Place
$200
All youth and child submissions will also receive a prize for their support.
Winning pieces will be displayed at select locations across northern Michigan.
How to submit your entry
Submissions will be accepted February 15 – March 15, 2022.
There are three ways to enter:
- Complete the online registration and release form below and upload your piece as directed.
- Email your work, along with a scan or clear photograph of your completed registration and release form, to voicesforvaccination@mhc.net.
- Bring your submission to one of the drop-off sites listed on the registration and release form, along with your completed form. Be sure to label your art work or storage device with your name and contact information. See the available drop-off sites below.
